Want to make your own custom heatsink? Silver City Aluminum does aluminum extrusion, and lots of it. Starting with huge honking billets of aluminum, they heat it up to thousands of degrees and force it through a die, cranking out thousands of feet of extruded shapes. They also do lots of post-processing, including machining, painting and anodizing.
Silver City Aluminum started three generations ago as a family owned business is now a slightly larger family-owned business, running a massive, 50,000 square foot facility in Taunton, Mass and fleet of delivery trucks. They specialize in custom extrusions, and can go from a computer design to a shipped product in as little as 48 hours.
Definitely come check it out--this promises to be one of the most dramatic tours we've done so far!
